I am OBSESSED with this Falls City senior's session!  OBSESSED!!!  Two vintage trucks, old barn, cotton fields and outfits to die for!  And the icing on the cake was how we incorporated things that are very sentimental into this session!  Kylee wore her Grandmother's turquoise jewelry, the old trucks belong to her grandparents, the cotton fields and pump tie it all together from the family's background in cotton and oil!  These past July and August sessions prove that we are cranking out amazing sessions even in this heat.  I think I am becoming more and more in love with the 'blue hour' of shooting!  In the photography world, that means we are shooting past sunset just a little when everything looks darkish.  With the right camera settings and off-camera-flash we are able to shoot images that we may have otherwise not even shot due to it being past sunset.  Once again, no skies were 'harmed' in the editing of these images.  There is absolutely no reason to fake a sky or add color.....this sunset was yet another sunset we've been blessed with on a photoshoot.  The sky was soooooo dramatic that it was casting a purple hue onto the cotton -  I call it "lavender cotton".  

Our image reveal and ordering session was so much fun!  Kylee brought along both her mom and grandmother and its always such a pleasure to see their expressions when they see the images for the first time.  I know so many emotions go through their heads.... mom is seeing her daughter as both a little girl and grown young lady at the same time.  As the slideshow plays, I know they see her as the little girl with sticky hands, playing outside, all the things of growing up and I know they also wonder who she will be a few years from now.  With 3 boys of my own graduated and one in high school, I have walked this walk 3 times and its so bittersweet!  I also enjoyed listening to the stories as grandmother and mom explained the jewelry to me and its sentimental value.  These are all the things I love about this job.
