Eight Years, Six Grandkids, and a Whole Lot of Love!

Eight years ago, I photographed this family- back when there were no grandkids in the mix.  Fast forward to now- Missy wanted to update their family portrait, as they have grown by six little ones!  We captured this milestone on the grandparent's new land, where they will soon build their forever home!

This session was full of energy to say the least!  Cousins running in every direction!  Missy had warned me weeks in advance "we are a crazy bunch!  When the cousins see each other they loose their minds!"  This was a very fast-paced session compared to my normal 'single family' sessions!  Cousins running, giggles echoing through the trees, boys trying to climb on a four wheeler and just pure playful chaos!  

We wrangled the kids up for quick poses, with a promise from the parents to let them run in the creek at the end.  It was a perfect ending to a session that truly captured their love, laughter , and beautiful mess of family life!  

I was telling Missy, this will be us one day!  With my youngest son graduating this year and my oldest married- we are in the stages that I remember the Klimitcheks in- Missy is a boy mom like I am and I saw when their son's began having their girlfriends over, which turned into finances and now wives and children of their own.  I've seen this family grow and although I am now closing a door to the chapter of high school sports, livestock shows and living by the school events calendar I look forward to the next chapter of having pure chaotic bliss such as this family now has!

I am attaching one of the images from the older session.  Missy wanted to recreate their poses, but adding in the grandkids.  I love how it turned out and oh man when us photographers look back to how we shot and edited things years ago we can see how far we've come!
